Birds cover from Poland

Here is a cover from Poland that I received two years ago and that I find rather nice and colorful. So I decided to show it to you. This is a FDC but it has actually traveled through the postal service. It bears two stamps issued by Poland on the 30th of June 2004. The stamps belong to a set of four picturing exotic birds.

The species pictured on the stamps are : Budgerigars (Melopsittacus undulatus) for the stamp on the left and Gouldian Finch (Chloebia gouldiae) for the stamp on the right. Both species are originally coming from Australia and New Zealand (we can wonder what they do on stamps from Poland… but this is another story).

The complete set has been issued in a souvenir sheet that I find rather impressive. Here it is.

Nice birdstamps. Also see some chickens on the sheet but not on the stamps.
